NEW! Call for Granted Editing Residencies CA LA ROSA & ApartEdicions 2026

Public call: from 1 January to 1 of February to 1 April until 15 November, 2026. Date of start residences from March 2.

Available periods:

  • Spring - summer: from March 2 to June 28, 2026.

  • Autumn: from September 15 to November 15, 2026.

Objectives
– To accompany the creators in their research and/or production projects in editing, in their experimental work and in the development and completion of their projects.
– Promoting documentation, publication, dissemination, transfer and exchange of knowledge of work processes in the editing sphere.

Duration: Each grant residency has a duration of one week. The applications have to adjust to a calendar proposal that the centre will offer creators and that will be flexible. 

Applications: submit dossier with proposed project and short curriculum vitae. Projects are accepted at any phase in their development. 

To register as a candidate for this call, it is necessary to end an email to info@calarosa.org with the subject “CA LA ROSA 2026 Editing Grant”, attaching a dossier in PDF Format that contains the following fields:
– Personal details (Full name, date and place of birth, photo of ID card or passport, contact email address, contact phone number).
– Curriculum Vitae.
– Conceptual proposal and detailed description of the project.
– Justification of the project relevance.
– Work plan, specifying the expected results and the final format.
– Technical needs and advice to be covered by CA LA ROSA.
– Selection of 10 images of previous artistic projects produced.

* IMPORTANT:
– Applications that do not include the required information will not be accepted.
– The content of the applications can be presented in Catalan, Spanish or English.

Grant benefits

Each editing residency grant represents the provision of a personal and communal space to carry out the project. All the rooms have a drawing table and at the same time the creators have access to the editing/printing workshop. 

CA LA ROSA will place at the disposal of the grant beneficiary:
– This residencies in the editing and graphics environment and each creator has to pay 30% of the costs of residency: from 250 euros/week usual price to 175 euros/week discounted price.

– CA LA ROSA has different spaces that can be used according to availability.
– Should the case arise, the discounted price per artist will be applied to the tasks entrusted to the technical team of the CA LA ROSA screen printing workshops, for the extra use of the space or editing material (paper, inks, screens, etc.).
– CA LA ROSA will provide support for the dissemination and public presentation of the project.
– These grants do not cover travel expenses from the place of residence to the centre, nor the costs of board.

Conditions
– These grants are compatible with other awards and subsidies, in the form of co-production.
– The production of the project must be carried out within one of the periods proposed in the 2026 calendar.

– CA LA ROSA will not exploit in any way the works or processes developed by the artists without their written consent in a contract.

Results of the selection process: as soon as de applications arrive, and the accommodation is exhausted.

Description

CA LA ROSA wants to place the emphasis on contemporary graphics projects. The expertise of Jordi Vilella, Apart Edicions editor, accustomed to collaborating with artists, advises and accompanies creators and their projects.

Residencies with professional accompaniment are organised and adapted to the needs of the process, experimentation or final edition of each artist. 

CA LA ROSA has different typologies of spaces to develop individual or collective artistic projects. The great majority of rooms and studios are large enough to work on creation processes in the sphere of the visual arts and editing. 

Creators also have access to common spaces and services for their everyday activities such as the library, the living room and games room, the courtyard, the dining room and the kitchen for residents.

Place

Residencies at CA LA ROSA, Art and Research Centre, are in Verges, at Carrer Girona, 31 of this municipality in the Baix Empordà (Girona).

Spots

This type of residency is organised with small groups, of between 2 and 3 artists at most.

At CA LA ROSA there are 7 rooms available that can be single or double. One of the rooms is on the ground floor (with a double bed) and has a (shared) bathroom for people with reduced mobility with easy access to the editing and printing workshop.
