Ca la Rosa is much more than its impressive facilities. It is a new life stage project for Jordi Vilella and Anna Solanilla. Artists and arts professionals, from different fields and with different types of expertise, who want to share and simultaneously draw inspiration by making art collectively.

Mission
CA LA ROSA is a space where all phases of the creation process can be developed: conception, experimentation, production, and public presentation. The facilities and their infrastructure place a certain emphasis on the artistic techniques of editing and installations/digital technology, but the centre’s multipurpose qualities and its activities programme are unlimited. The interdisciplinary nature of the arts is typical of contemporary times.

Vision
The CA LA ROSA centre is set within an artistic thinking and conception framework that is very much contemporary. The kind of artistic expression that takes an analytical and critical approach to the living conditions of its surrounding environment.

Territory
The main objective of the new CA LA ROSA centre is to provide context and resources for artistic creation and the dissemination of arts and culture in a territory – the Empordà regions – where there are few creative residency offerings specialising in the visual arts variants supported by our project.

The Center
CA LA ROSA is installed in a hostel dating from the late 19th century and located in Verges (Baix Empordà, Girona), which has been restored to house a centre for artistic creation and research. The centre deploys resources to develop projects: artistic residencies, mentorships, monographic training, exhibitions, workshops, conferences and much more. The centre places the emphasis on artistic practice in the field of editing processes and, in a second phase, on installations and digital technologies.
