Description

Rosa Afternoons are designed for people with an awareness of or interest in the arts and who want to dig deeper into the issues raised at each session by curators, artists and thinkers in a friendly environment where each project can be discussed. The activity will be a combination of practice and reflection during the space of 3 hours.

It is an open programme that will take place at CA LA ROSA Art Centre, Verges, and that forms part of the programme of the Graphic Editing and Context Stage I; therefore, people who attend the Rosa Afternoons will share the activity with the artists who are resident and in the process of creating their works.

Structure

Photographing nature, with Xavi Bou.
Knowledgeable about the territory of the Baix Empordà and its ecosystem, especially its oviparous inhabitants, he will be sharing with us how he conducts this thought-provoking combination between observation, photography, and artistic expression, since his art is activated by the close relationship between art and biology.

Mediation in relation to editing and context, with nyamnyam - LIO (La impremta oberta). The open printing house (LIO) is an initiative born of the collaboration between two cooperatives –nyamnyam and Cultural Rizoma– with the aim of promoting a platform devoted to the production and dissemination of publications linked to thought and creation. With its experience in mediation, the nyamnyam team members will bring us closer to the way in which they give access to art and editing proposals, especially contemporary ones, which are often governed by more cryptic, less obvious meanings.

Graphic creation processes according to Isidro Ferrer.
Being an illustrator (and more) means seeking different ways to activate creativity. What can perhaps help us most is to work based on processes that are not always developed in the same way. Isidro Ferrer will bring us closer to his ways of working and we will test some of them in a practical way.

Introduction to the curatorship of editing projects, led by Rafel G. Bianchi.
The visual artist and curator will lead a session on how to exhibit editions in terms of composition and structure – as well as poetic elements – and will put together some applied proposals with materials edited in the CA LA ROSA workshop to be presented at an exhibition with Rafel G. Bianchi as curator.
